Join us for Gallery Night PVD at the WaterFire Arts Center, where Willa Van Nostrand's solo exhibition Of the Essence will be open for evening viewing as part of Providence's monthly celebration of art and culture.
Gallery Night takes place on the third Thursday of every month, bringing visitors to galleries, museums, and creative spaces across Providence. Tours leave from the WaterFire Arts Center and the Graduate Hotel, making it easy to explore the city's art scene in a single evening.
Of the Essence brings together large-scale colorfield paintings, watercolors, ceramic vessels, video, songwriting, and an archival installation of honey. Van Nostrand's work blurs the boundaries between seeing, hearing, and tasting, drawing from research and residencies at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the National Archaeological Museum in Athens, and Stamperia Del Notaio in Sicily.
