MEET THE ARTISTS
KIMBERLY BURNETT
Event Photos

"I am an artist from the Milwaukee area. At 2 years old I told people that I was an artist, and I have never stopped creating art since then. Being homeschooled allowed me the freedom to study art extensively throughout my childhood. I became a mom at a young age, and eventually had four children. The amount of time I could spend on art has waxed and waned over the years, but I have steadily worked on honing my technique and personal style."

Ms. Burnett's work is located in our Lobby.

SAVVY BREAUX
Event Photos

"My big sister, Dionna Hayden, is one of my biggest inspirations when it comes to art. I started my artistic journey when I was about 8, learning the basics of sketching and coloring. I was always captivated by bold strokes and vibrant colors and wanted to bring it to life one day. I didn’t stop there. At age 26, I practiced art therapy for 2 years for children with trauma and brought a new perspective on how to cope with stress, and whatever else life brings us. During that time, I started my own business as a commissioned artist where I was even published later on that year in an Atlanta magazine. My next goal is to be featured in a gallery by 2023 and I just know that this will be a great opportunity for the road ahead!"

JEANNE BRIL

Jeanne’s earliest art memory is of being told by a teacher that her drawing of an elephant looked like a duck. This was an early lesson about humility and perseverance. Jeanne attended MIAD and eventually taught art for 26 years. She strove not to judge or place limits on her students. Jeanne was able to earn a graduate degree at UWM in Art while teaching full time. She never forgot the excitement of the Kenilworth studio space, shared with other grad students. Jeanne has embraced painting the landscape, both rural and urban and participates in numerous Plein Air events. She is currently enjoying being part of a community studio space again, at Material Studio and Gallery in the Third Ward.
