About this Event

Celebrate Galentine’s Day on Thursday, February 13th with New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Ashley Poston as we dive into the heartfelt, empowering female friendships that light up her romance novels. In conversation with Katie Shober of the book review account Beach Reads & Bubbly, Ashley will delve into the importance of sisterhood, the unbreakable bonds between women, and how these relationships influence the romantic journeys of her characters. Whether it’s the quirky best friends, the supportive confidantes, or the fierce female allies, Poston’s novels are filled with dynamic female characters who steal the show.

Join us for a thoughtful conversation about the heart of friendship in romance—because sometimes, the best love stories are the ones we share with our closest girlfriends.

ABOUT ASHLEY POSTON
Ashley Poston is the New York Times and USA Today best-selling author of The Dead Romantics, The Seven Year Slip, and A Novel Love Story. She has also written over half a dozen young adult novels.

After graduating from the University of South Carolina with a BA in English, she pursued a career in the publishing industry where she helped design and implement marketing strategies for novels. Now, she writes full-time from her little grey house, and spoils her three cats. When not writing, she bides her time between South Carolina and New York, and all the bookstores between.

ABOUT A NOVEL LOVE STORY
Eileen Merriweather loves getting lost in a good happily-ever-after, the fictional kind, because at least imaginary men don’t leave you at the altar. She feels safe in books, at home, which is why she's determined to attend her annual book club retreat this year—she needs good friends, cheap wine, and grand romantic gestures, no matter what. But when her car unexpectedly breaks down on the way, she finds herself stranded in a quaint town that feels like it’s right out of a novel—and it turns out, it is. Eloraton, the town from her favorite romance series, is a place where the candy store’s honey taffy is always sweet, the local bar’s burgers are always a little burnt, and rain always comes in the afternoon. It feels like home, perfect and frozen in time, trapped in the late author’s last unfinished story. Elsy is sure that’s why she’s here: to help bring the town to its storybook ending. However, there’s one character she can’t place—a grumpy bookstore owner with mint-green eyes, an irritatingly sexy mouth, and impeccable taste in novels. He doesn’t want her finishing this book, which is a problem because Elsy is beginning to think that the town’s happily-ever-after might just be intertwined with her own.

ABOUT KATIE SHOBER
Katie Shober has been a voracious reader from a young age, always eager to share her favorite books with family, friends, and anyone who would listen. She began posting book reviews on her personal account in January 2020 and later created to make it easier for her friends to access her reviews. What started as a small endeavor has grown significantly, but Katie still feels like she's simply sharing her thoughts with close friends. Her favorite genres are romance and thrillers, though she's open to exploring anything that might surprise her—whether through a shocking twist or an unforgettable romance that tugs at her heart. Beyond books, Katie has a passion for beauty and fashion, which she also shares on her Instagram and website. She’s thrilled to have others join her on this journey!
