On October 8th and 9th Galactic Comics and Games will be hosting our two-day Warhammer 40k Store Championship!The winner of this event will be given the Store Champion trophy from the event support kit provided by Games Workshop.
The entry fee for this event will be $45 and the player cap will be set at 22. Payments can be made via PayPal ([email protected]), by calling the store, or cash in person either beforehand or on the day of the event. If we max out at 22, the prize support will be as follows:
1st Place: $450 and the trophy
Best Painted: $200
2nd Place: $200
3rd Place: $150
If we do not reach 22 players, the prizes will be adjusted accordingly. No matter how many people show up though, 100% of the entry fees will be given out as store credit and the trophy will be awarded to the winner.
For this event, players will be required to build a 2000 point matched play legal army following all the rules, FAQs and publications from Games Workshop. Both the rules cutoff and the deadline to submit lists for this event will be October 2. This means that any rules published on October 3 or later will not be in use, and any list submitted on October 3 or later will not be accepted. Any clarifying FAQs published after the deadline will be in use at the TO's discretion, any FAQ that changes something will not be in use.
Models:
In order to qualify for any prizes your entire army must be painted to a battle ready standard. If you have questions about what that means please message Greg.
All models must be WYSIWYG, no exceptions.
All proxies must be submitted to and approved by the TO prior to list submission. If a proxied model is used in your list that was not cleared, you will be asked to remove the model and will have to play without it for the rest of the event.
Terrain Specifics:
All mesa or hill type terrain will be counted as impassible for all models, this means that no matter what rules you have, you may not finish a move on top of this terrain. Units that have fly or some other rule that ignores terrain are allowed to move across this terrain, so long as they finish their move with no part of their base touching the terrain.
All buildings with bases will provide light cover no matter where you are on the base. If you are outside the footprint of the building, the building will be obscuring. If you are inside the footprint of the building you can both see out and be seen by the enemy.
