Frank „GALA“ Gahler und Georgie „Joro“ Gogow gehören seit den 1970er Jahren zu den bekanntesten Musikern der ostdeutschen Musikszene. Sie waren die maßgeblichen Initiatoren der legendären Gruppen NO55 und Amiga Blues Band. Seit 2019 musizieren GALA und der Teufelsgeiger von City nun wieder zusammen: herrlich handgemachte Musik trifft auf authentische Liedgeschichten.
Im Januar 1983 traten NO 55, wie wenige Monate später Udo Lindenberg und Harry Belafonte, beim Festival „Rock für den Frieden“ im Palast der Republik auf.
Zurück an genau diesem Auftrittsort Berlins, nun Humboldt Forum, erinnern sie sich daran und spielen aktuelle Songs. Auf der Bühne werden sie unterstützt von Olli Becker (Monokel, Jessica, Hansi Biebl) an den Percussions und René Decker (NO 55, Elefant, Lift) am Saxophon und Keyboards.

Frank “GALA” Gahler and Georgie “Joro” Gogow have been among the best-known musicians on the East German music scene since the 1970s. They were the main initiators of the legendary groups NO55 and Amiga Blues Band. Since 2019, GALA and the devil’s violinist from City have been making music together again: wonderfully handmade music meets authentic song stories.
In January 1983, NO 55, like Udo Lindenberg and Harry Belafonte a few months later, performed at the “Rock for Peace” festival in the Palast der Republik.
Back at this very venue in Berlin, now the Humboldt Forum, they remember this and play current songs. They will be supported on stage by Olli Becker (Monokel, Jessica, Hansi Biebl) on percussion and René Decker (NO 55, Elefant, Lift) on saxophone and keyboards.
