Join us for our very first Gainesville Community Sit on June 29th! It's free.

We are happy to bring together many of the wonderful residents of our area who wish to sit in quiet unity. It can be a powerful experience. No experience is needed.

Relax and renew with a 20 minute guided sit and a 10 minute silent walk, followed by a second 20 minute silent sit in a natural, peaceful urban setting.

We will meet on the last Saturday of each month at 9 am.

This month the Community Sit will be led by Dr. Jan Snyder, leader of Gainesville's Shambhala group. https://gainesville.shambhala.org/

Our Community Sits are sponsored for free by the new Gainesville Buddhist Alliance group.

Here are our goals for this monthly sit:

*To promote meditation as a tool for peace; for cultivating compassion, loving friendliness, appreciative joy and equanimity, and for reducing our suffering and the suffering of all beings.

*To connect monthly in a peaceful sitting in a public place that will be open to all experienced and new meditators. To publicly share the peaceful nature of silent sitting even amidst the sounds of surrounding urban life.
