Gagosian Shop, London | Book Signing: Tyler Mitchell "Wish This Was Real”

Tyler Mitchell will sign copies of his new monograph, Wish This Was Real, in conjunction with his takeover of the Gagosian Shop in London’s Burlington Arcade. Published by Aperture on the occasion of his 2024–26 traveling exhibition of the same title, this early-career survey takes a deep look at Mitchell’s evolving practice across photography, video, and sculpture. Together, these works explore beauty, utopia, and the landscape within the context of contemporary Black presence. The book features a foreword by Anna Wintour and contributions by Sophie Cavoulacos, Brendan Embser, Rashid Johnson, Robin Coste Lewis, Sarah Lewis, Drew Sawyer, Rachel Tashjian, and Salamishah Tillet. Mitchell will also sign copies of Superfine: Tailoring Black Style (Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, 2025), featuring his commissioned photograph Untitled (Christian in Wales Bonner Cover) (2024) on the front cover and his visual essay “Portrait of the Modern Dandy.” Both books will be available for purchase at the event.
