We're celebrating Gaelic in Muir of Ord!1-2pm: Playsongs for Bairns
Participatory workshop led by Christina Stewart with action songs and singing games in Scots, simple Gaelic and Scottish English for children under 12 and the adults who care for them.
2:30-3:30pm: Meet the Clarsach
Workshop led by Grace Stewart-Skinner with the chance to get your hands on Scotland’s oldest traditional instrument, the clarsach
4-5pm: Come and Try Gaelic Waulking
Participatory workshop led by Christina Stewart and Grace Stewart-Skinner with catchy Gaelic songs and traditional tweed thumping
Admission for 1 workshop: Individual £2/Family £5
Admission for 3 workshops: Individual £5/Family £10
7-8pm: Concert by Cionar
mother-daughter duo performing exclusively Gaelic songs and music with voice and clàrsach, who have performed at Cruinn Còmhla and Under Canvas in Inverness, at the Belladrum and Dandelion Festivals, for the Sutherland Sessions and achieved "Highly Commended" and Celtic Connection's Danny Kyle Stage. 8:30-9:30: Informal traditional music session.
All comers can take part and participants in the afternoon workshops will have the chance to share some of what they have learned as well.
