🇦🇷 Gaby Mataloni - BIO 🇦🇷
Gaby Mataloni is a dancer and Tango instructor, born in Buenos Aires in 1985. While she began exploring various dance styles at an early age, it was in 2005 that she discovered Tango, which quickly became her true passion. Since 2012, she has been teaching regularly in her hometown, and from 2015 onward, she has been performing internationally, sharing her artistry in the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay, and across various European countries.
Known for her versatility, Gaby teaches and performs both roles in Tango, and has collaborated with prominent artists such as Diego Amorín, Vinicius Souza, Krishna Olmedo, Guillermo Cerneaz, and Inés Muzzopappa. In 2022, she embarked on a groundbreaking U.S. tour with Inés Muzzopappa, presenting a unique Tango performance featuring two women performing both roles.
In addition to her artistic career, Gaby is a licensed pharmacist, graduating from the University of Buenos Aires. She has also pursued postgraduate studies at FLACSO Argentina, specializing in the Genealogy of Tango and Argentine Political History, as well as Cultural Management and Communication. Gaby was a co-founder of Milonga Sísmica and Lirondo Milonga, and played an active role in the Civil Association TTD (Tango Dance Workers), where she worked on initiatives aimed at strengthening the Tango community and professionalizing the sector.
With a deep passion for her craft, Gaby is continuously evolving both as an artist and a teacher. Her approach to pedagogy emphasizes safe, mindful, and enjoyable learning environments, where the body is trained as an expressive and communicative tool in the context of social Tango. For Gaby, Tango represents an ongoing journey of personal growth, exploration, and connection.
