Gabriel Kosakoff Memorial Concert, October 17

You are invited to join us on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 7pm in the LaGuardia Concert Hall for a joyful celebration of the life and legacy of the beloved Gabriel Kosakoff (Music and Art 1944 alumnus, and Instrumental Music Faculty and Chair 1956-1991), who passed away in March 2022. Doors will open at 6:30pm and seating is general admission.

Former faculty member Justin DiCioccio is the music director for the event, which will feature performances by Bela Fleck, Larry Aberman, Daniel Druckman, Mark Sherman, Rand Steiger, Kenny Washington, and the LaGuardia High School Brass Ensemble (led by Kevin Blancq)!

With tributes from Billy Cobham, James Conlon, Marcus Miller, Arturo O'Farrill, and Speranza Scappucci.

The event is free and requires advance registration. Once you have registered, your name will be at the check-in at LaGuardia. Please arrive by 6:45pm.

If you would like to make a contribution in memory of Gabriel Kosakoff, you may click here to contribute to the Gabriel Kosakoff Instrumental Music Fund, which provides awards to two instrumental music students each year (one junior and one senior) who demonstrate excellence as musicians, and positive attitudes toward the school.
