FÁINNE ÓIR: The Soundtrack by Candlelight

During this beautiful atmospheric candlelight concert, composer Kathy Fahey and Mayo Concert Orchestra will take you on the journey of Saoirse O'Malley, the eldest of 3 girls, living in 1840's rural Ireland. You will be transported from famine-stricken Mayo to the lighted streets of New York. All displayed through highly emotive music, you will endure Saoirse's love for Diarmuid, grief at the loss of her parents, sadness leaving home and excitement to finally be reunited with her sisters and the love of her life. Renowned uileann piper, Diarmaid Moynihan, will join the orchestra for two laments.
