Come out and join one of 18 teams that conduct the annual Fort Worth Christmas Bird Count (CBC.)A CBC may sound daunting to the inexperienced birder, but it is actually a great way to improve birding skills and learn from the more experienced birders in our chapter. EXTRA EYES are the most helpful tool when participating in a bird count. Not knowledge of bird species.
The Fort Worth CBC area is centered NW of downtown Fort Worth in White Settlement. The resulting 15-mile diameter circle allows teams to look for birds on the south shore of Eagle Mountain Lake, the north shore of Lake Benbrook, the grassland prairie on ranches near the Parker county line, and the many city parks in downtown Fort Worth.
