Future Threads (SUMMER CAMP)
About this Event
In Future Threads, youth will get hands on experience with botanical dyeing, create bio material trinkets, and explore other textile & material innovations. We will get messy, we will have fun, and come away with new skills to create fashion that is more sustainable! Perfect for young people interested in textiles, sustainability, art, and creating a better material future.
This summer program is designed for youth ages 10-16.
The camp will meet for 1-week: Monday July 6 - Friday July 10 | 10AM - 3PM.
It will be held at Oakland Style Lab in downtown Oakland:
📍302 12th Street, Oakland, CA
Limited to just 6 students for a more personalized experience.
Students should bring lunch and a water bottle.

Monday: Bio Materials
Tuesday & Wednesday: Botanical Dyeing
Thursday: Crystalizing Textiles
Friday: Bio accessory making & Showcase
About the Instructor:
Olivia Cueva is a bio textile and fashion designer who has been leading media, technology, and fashion arts programs for youth for over a decade. Her work has been featured internationally in London, Barcelona, Jordan, and Bali. You can learn more about her and her practice at oliviacueva.com.
