Headliners:

Chisara Agor

Ever-shifting environments, constantly (r)evolving juxtapositions of experience, are recurring themes in much of Chisara Agor’s art. It’s a fitting focus for their expansive, multidisciplinary practice, which originates in part from her creative education at a local theatre. From a young age, Agor learned to act, sing, play, dance and write simultaneously (not to mention her extensive visual output and philosophical practice) Their work spans the music, film, theatre and visual art world. While an actor/performer, composer and visual artist core to their practice is philosophical enquiry and a desire to create works that inspire conversation, reflection and critique. From society, to politics, to how we find joy, Chisara's work is as much about the world around them as it is their own personal interpretation of it.

A previous resident of the iconic Roundhouse, Camden Chisara has been supported by various composer and artist programmes and been commissioned by organisations such as Talawa Theatre, MSCTY, BBC x ICA and Sound UK. Her music and sound works have been featured on BBC radio London and 6 music and she has performed in various venues and stages across the country and internationally.

Shunaji

Shunaji is a music producer, rapper and vocalist hailing from Rome and currently based in London. Her musical style blends jazz-influenced hip-hop with funk, soul and psychedelic rock flavours.

Shunaji’s releases have been acclaimed within independent music scenes in the UK and abroad, as she pushes the boundaries of mainstream music. She is the recipient of multiple awards including the PRS Woman Make Music fund, Help Musicians' Do It Differently and MOBO awards, and Sound and Music's Interpreting Isolation. Shunaji has performed internationally and across the UK, including festivals like Glastonbury Festival, Love Supreme, Montreux Jazz Festival and We Out Here.

Nelson Navarro

Reminding listeners at once of Frank Ocean & Kendrick Lamar, Nelson Navarro's take on R&B with trap music has made him one to watch out for in the unpredictable decade of the 2020s. “I do it all to bring the gang together” says young songwriter, Nelson Navarro. “I’m talking unity”.

Navarro has a lot of experience in community, coming from a large mixed-Caribbean family and joining musical groups all throughout childhood. “There’s something really unifying about swimming in music together. It’s unique.” Despite releasing music for over 6 years, Nelson places a high value on the year 2022. “It feels like I’m back at year one all over again. It’s never felt this exciting.”

So far the singer-producer has released 16 songs this year across 2 mixtapes, with another mixtape on the way. “This new project I’m working on is interesting. I’m trying out the trilogy vibe. I wanna give people a series they can keep coming back to. Skyhook, Sundance, Smokecity. That’s the three mixtape names. Maybe once these are done I can rest…”

“We all struggle with our mental health and everyone’s well being is set up differently. Everyone needs a different sort of self care and everyone deserves tk have that set up in their lives.” Battling through painful dissociative episodes and intense depressions, Nelson uses music to bring strands of, what feels like a disparate reality, together.

“I just want you to know you can do it. Maybe not now, maybe sooner than you expect, but you can probably already do everything you’re wishing for. Collaborate with reality and keep your expectations blank. You’d be surprised about what the universe has in store…”

The launch will also house 4 independent film screenings, 2 photography and 2 fashion exhibitions.

Free entrance.
