A man jumps into the river. He dies. Then, he wakes in a cave. In the shadows beyond his reach, a creature lurks, observes, calls him. Not far away, Connolly wakes from a recurring nightmare. His peaceful life now disturbed by a doubtful seed, seeing things where they are not, Connolly must reckon with the quiet, patient, and relentless weight that settles over him, as if darkness itself had learnt his name.Blending virtuosic physical and text-based performance practices with the gothic tones of classical horror, and following on from the success of Blood on the Moon, Arbitration and Embodying Glass, Cuisle Productions revives this haunting meditation on the growing mental health crisis in young men in Ireland and the UK to draw audiences into the dark, scary, and visceral journey of one man’s descent into madness.
