About this Event
Are you ready to shape the future of energy innovation? Join us at the Future Energy Innovators Competition as part of the International Building Physics Conference (IBPC) 2024, proudly hosted by the ASHRAE TMU Student Branch!
We’re thrilled to collaborate with our industry partner, Resource Innovations , who have provided a real-world challenge: analyzing and optimizing a control system for a 100,000-square-foot office building with typical occupancy.
Here’s what you can expect:
- July 21st: Kick-off online meeting with an introduction to the problem by an engineering manager from Resource Innovations.
- July 21 - 24: Develop your solutions over three days.
- July 24th (6-8 PM): Present your innovative solutions to our expert judges!

Prizes:
1st Place: $1000
2nd Place: $600
3rd Place: $400
No prerequisite knowledge is needed—all the information you need will be provided. We welcome students and graduates from Mechanical, Building Sciences, Electrical, Civil, and Environmental Engineering to register. However, all engineering disciplines are encouraged to participate!
Form a team of 3, tackle a real-world energy problem, and present your solution at the George Vari Engineering Building at Toronto Metropolitan University downtown Toronto campus.
