About this Event

The Teen Acting Intensive is a two-week summer training program designed for young artists ages 13–17 who want to build confidence, strengthen their craft, and explore the skills required for both stage and screen performance. Whether students are new to acting or already pursuing performance opportunities, the intensive provides a supportive environment where they can challenge themselves, collaborate with peers, and grow as artists.
Students may enroll in either week individually or attend both weeks for a complete summer training experience. Each week features its own unique curriculum and culminating showcase event.
Week 1: Stage Stories
Acting • Improv • Musical Theater • Storytelling
Students develop performance fundamentals through scene work, improvisation, character development, storytelling, and musical theater. The focus is on building confidence, creativity, collaboration, and authentic performance skills while preparing material for a live showcase presentation. The week concludes with a live performance on the LACAE stage for family and friends.
Week 2: Screen Stories
On-Camera Acting • TV Comedy • Audition Technique • Digital Creation
Students explore the world of television, film, and digital media through on-camera acting, comedy, audition training, and content creation. Participants develop practical skills used by working performers while learning how to create compelling work for today's entertainment landscape. The week concludes with a screening event featuring scenes, sketches, self-tapes, and digital projects created throughout the week.
