2 Part Fused Glass Suncatcher Workshop with River and Rhyme Art Glass at Appalachian Homestead.
In this two part, beginner friendly workshop, you'll learn the basics of fused glass while designing a unique piece that reflects your own style.
Part One: Design and cut your glass. I'll guide you through safely cutting and arranging fusible glass to create your floral inspired suncatcher. All tools, glass, and supplies are included. A selection of beautiful floral colors, including pinks, purples, greens, blues, and yellow, will be available to spark your creativity.
*If there's a specific color palette you'd love to work with, please reach out in advance and I'll do my best to accommodate.
After the first class, your artwork will be kiln fired.
**This workshop is scheduled for four hours so you can enjoy the creative process at a relaxed pace. Fused glass is a thoughtful, hands on art form, and most participants will use the full class time to design and create their piece. You're welcome to take breaks, stretch your legs, enjoy a snack, or simply pause to admire your progress along the way. There's no need to rush as we've intentionally set aside plenty of time so you can create with care and leave with a piece you're proud of!
Part Two: Once your glass has been fired, we'll gather again to transform it into a finished hanging piece. You'll learn how to assemble your suncatcher by stringing beads and attaching your fused glass to a piece of driftwood. Beads, tools, and driftwood will all be provided, but you're welcome to bring your own beads or special materials if you'd like to make your piece even more personal.
Whether you're completely new to fused glass or simply looking for a creative way to spend time with others, this workshop offers a relaxed, encouraging environment where you can create something beautiful by hand.
