Glass Fusing is a fascinating media, you can shape it, stack it, weave it or melt it into a puddle! Each student will get exposed to the glass fusing process in this introductory class. No experience necessary and no glass cutting will be required for this intro level class. Each student will create 3 unique Ornaments that will make great gifts or boost their own holiday decorating.
This class is suitable for adults, seniors, and teens over 16 years of age. Materials and Tools information below. N95 Mask is recommended for safety.
MATERIALS & TOOLS:
Due to the nature of this class, at brief periods of time students may be working with glass powders. This being the case, we ask students to bring an N-95 mask for safety. This mask will be worn while handling the glass powders and isn’t required to be worn for the whole class. The studio will have a limited number of respirators available for class use, however, if you are able to bring a personal safety mask, this would be recommended. Other than personal safety masks, all materials and tools will be provided by the Instructor, Nell Trask, or by the Arts Center.
FIRING POLICY:
It takes hours to run the kiln and fire the pieces. Because of limitations on access to a kiln, the projects will be fired and available for pick up at Sangre de Cristo Art Center one week following the conclusion of your class.
