Funk Me Fridays welcomes our newest headliner: GOTTA !!
Gotta is an emerging DJ with a fresh presence behind the decks but a seasoned passion for drum and bass. Though somewhat new to the art of DJing, Gotta has been immersed in the drum and bass scene for years, cultivating a deep appreciation for its intense rhythms and complex soundscapes. His sets reflect this long-standing connection to the genre, blending classic tracks with cutting-edge beats. Gotta’s performances are a celebration of his love for drum and bass, but moreover, music as a whole. offering a dynamic experience that resonates with both new listeners and seasoned fans alike!

In his nearly 30-year career, Snack has opened for or played alongside world-reknown artists such as Doc Scott, Dara, J-Majik and Odi. His groovy, techno-influnced brand of deep/minimal drum and bass has made him a fan-favorite in NC and beyond. As "Executive Chef" at Deli Fresh Music, Snack and his collaborators throw parties in the Triangle and always have some tasty sauce a-brewin'.
j.b grew up in raleigh and was present for the early amazing underground scene in the mid-to-late nineties. began spinning hip-hop influenced jump up in 1996, transitioning by 2000 into the harder sounds that would come to typify his upfront, aggressive nature as a dj. J.b. Played across the southeast from 1998-2002, as “dj goon” based in Boone, NC. after a hiatus, joined forces with a heavy crew in charlotte around 2005 and continued to play in NC until around 2010. He recently rejoined the scene, and have continued to bring forth a darker, heavier sound combined with vocal tunes. double drops, wild mashups and classic dnb comprise every set.
Emerging from a deep love affair with electronic music sparked in the mid-90s, Doc is a seasoned enthusiast who rediscovered his passion for music after a hiatus spent raising his daughter. During the COVID era, a friend's encouragement reignited his musical journey, steering him towards learning to mix. Docs sets resonate with the raw energy of NEURO, blending intricate rhythms and deep basslines to create an immersive sonic experience that captivates and moves.
