Kia ora koutou
We have another awesome movie coming up on Thursday 15 October. We are again holding it at our Green Party offices, Upstairs, 8 Commerce St in town.
Bring some koha for vegan soup & bread served from 5.30pm.
Movie starts at 6.15pm with a runtime of 75 mins.
The Invisible Doctrine traces neoliberalism from its origins in the 1930s to its dominance of
Western politics and economics. It argues that prioritising unrestricted corporate freedom
has fuelled inequality, social isolation and environmental destruction, while encouraging
people to see themselves primarily as consumers. Monbiot contends that endless
consumption is incompatible with the planet’s ecological limits and calls for a fundamental
rethink of our economic and political assumptions. As an alternative, he advocates
cooperation, mutual aid, and greater democratic participation, fostering a “politics of
belonging” that can rebuild communities and help create a more sustainable future.
