Fundraiser: Decreasing Intimate Partner/Domestic Violence Deaths

The Institute for the Prevention & Eradication of Violence, Inc. (IPEV) is hosting a fundraiser event on February 18, 2024, at Bus Boys and Poets in Hyattsville 6:00pm – 10:00 pm to raise funds for an upcoming conference addressing intimate partner/domestic violence deaths scheduled for October 2024 in the DMV. The title of the conference is “A Call to Action: Decreasing Deaths Caused by Intimate Partner/Domestic Violence”. This aims to further address the seriousness of this kind of violence. Serious efforts must be taken to ensure the safety of communities in the DMV and people’s lives by bridging the gap between providers in the DMV area about social ills such as intimate partner/domestic violence. We must show not just talk, that we care about this issue and that lives do matter in decreasing the deaths caused by intimate partner/domestic violence. Various speakers from the DMV to include government officials, clergy, concerned cititizens, and survivors from the DMV, will not only provide real talk at the conference about the issue but offer real solutions to put more protective resources in place, along with tips to maintain personal protection/preventive measures, and resources for individuals who are now experiencing trauma related to this issue.
