Pollan and Erik Davis discuss the Alembic’s contribution to the Bay Area’s culture of psychedelics and visionary arts at this fundraiser.
Join us for an extraordinary evening with acclaimed author Michael Pollan, whose groundbreaking work How to Change Your Mind reshaped the conversation around the transformative potential of psychedelics. Seven years after publication—and three years after the hit Netflix docuseries—Pollan will reflect on the rapidly evolving “psychedelic space,” exploring key questions:
-How should we think about the FDA’s recent decisions?
-What does the regulation of ketamine’s popularity signal?
-How are institutions like the Berkeley Center for the Science of Psychedelics shaping the future?
-What roles will psychedelics play in a world seeking healing, meaning, and stability?
-What new frontiers—both promising and perilous—are emerging?
Pollan will be in conversation with Alembic co-founder and cultural historian Erik Davis, who will also discuss the Alembic’s unique contribution to the Bay Area’s culture of psychedelics and visionary arts.
Why This Event Matters: Tonight’s event is a fundraiser to support the Alembic, a Berkeley-based nonprofit center for consciousness culture. Over just three years, the Alembic has united communities across meditation, movement, psychedelics, the arts, and humanities to foster a dynamic, integrative “consciousness culture.” However, sustaining this vital work requires your support. Together, we’ll reflect on the importance of the Alembic experiment and chart a path forward.
General Admission: $150
VIP Reception: $500 (Limited to 30 attendees) | 5:30 PM
Enhance your evening with an intimate, catered reception featuring Michael Pollan, Erik Davis, and members of the Alembic community. Enjoy hors d'oeuvres and drinks while engaging in casual conversation. VIP tickets are limited, so reserve your spot today!
About the Alembic The Alembic is a nonprofit center dedicated to fostering a consciousness culture through classes, events, and workshops on meditation, movement, psychedelics, inquiry, and visionary arts. In just a few years, the Alembic has become a vital hub for integrating altered states of consciousness into a creative, pluralistic worldview that respects both science and spiritual traditions.
