About this Event

We invite you to be a part of preserving African American history and culture. With urgency and deep gratitude, we want to express how African American history and culture are under deliberate attack. Books and artifacts are being pulled from museums and library shelves. Museum and library funding is being reduced or eliminated entirely. The stories, achievements, and lived experiences of communities- hard-to-find and irreplaceable are being erased, one policy decision at a time.

Join us for a truly special Fall afternoon and evening, filled with African American history, culture, art, literature, and music. Together, we'll honor the generations who came before us, celebrate the community gathered here today, and plant seeds for those still to come.

This intimate gathering will be held in AAMLO's beautiful second-floor Museum Gallery — itself a nationally recognized historic landmark, and the perfect backdrop for an afternoon devoted to preserving our stories.

Every gift you bring helps keep African American history alive for generations ahead.
