Fiona will share from her expertise in successfully fundraising for large scale arts programmes as well as for independent projects, walking you through important considerations for when you are developing your idea, all the way through to writing your successful application.
This workshop is for traditional musicians who are interested in applying for future arts funding, or who have a great project idea but donโ€™t know where to begin.
Workshop Highlights:

- How to manage your funding and your relationship with your funder
Workshop Aims:

- Leave with the knowledge on what makes a good funding application
- Develop project ideas
- Feel more confident about managing funding and finances
- Meet other musicians and creative practitioners
----------
Fiona Dalgetty is currently Chief Executive of Fรจis Rois, where she has successfully raised millions of pounds since taking up post in 2009. Fundraising has always been central to Fionaโ€™s work, whether that was when she was a freelance musician applying for support for individual projects, or when she worked as a Cultural Coordinator for the City of Edinburgh Council and brought in external funding for cross art form projects in schools across the city.
Fiona was named in the inaugural Hands Up For Trad Women in Music and Culture List 2023 and, in 2022, she was made an Honorary Fellow of the University of the Highlands and Islands for her contribution to culture. In 2018 Fiona was named in the BBC Radio 4 Womanโ€™s Hour Power List, which recognised the top 40 most successful women having an impact on the music we are all listening to, and she was inducted by the Saltire Society as one of ten Outstanding Women in Scotland in 2019.

This is part of the Traditional Music Forum of Scotland's Workshop Programme 2025.
