Explore with peers in philanthropy the full cost principles needed to support community and worker well being
About this Event

Across Greater Philadelphia, philanthropy is investing in economic mobility, workforce development, and community well-being. Yet many nonprofit organizations continue to face challenges related to workforce sustainability, leadership capacity, burnout, retention, and organizational resilience.

Building on insights from NFF’s event in September, this meeting will explore what these challenges reveal about the conditions nonprofits need to deliver lasting impact, and the role philanthropy can play in strengthening them.

For more than 40 years, Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF) has partnered with funders and nonprofits to understand and resource the full cost of delivering impact. NFF believes that “Full Cost” is an ecosystem approach that aligns resources with the people, leadership, infrastructure, and organizational capacity needed to achieve meaningful outcomes over time.

Together, we'll explore:

  • The connection between worker well-being, organizational sustainability, and the true cost of delivering impact
  • The link between worker well-being and financial health
  • How funding practices can support full cost principles – and better support the people and infrastructure behind results
  • Where the region’s philanthropy may have opportunities to support the people, leadership, and infrastructure behind community outcomes.

This is not a conversation about funding overhead or flexible general operating support. Full cost is a set of practices that identifies and invests in the full financial resources required to run effective organizations for the long-term. This is a mindset shift that aims to shift the risk burden away from nonprofits. This conversation will focus on the systems-level approach necessary to build and sustain economic mobility and community well-being across our region.

Space is limited to encourage meaningful discussion among philanthropic peers. We hope you'll join us.

Please RSVP by November 13
