From November 9–13, 2026, KIVI and IChemE bring this practical five-day course to Amsterdam, designed for engineers and technical professionals who want to build a solid foundation in process safety. Delivered by experienced industry practitioners, the training combines real-world examples with industry best practice, giving participants knowledge they can apply immediately on the job.
By the end, attendees will understand the key principles of process safety and its management, the human, environmental, and business consequences of getting it wrong, and the main factors shaping a plant's process safety basis. The course also covers hazards associated with process plants and how to control the risks, the safety requirements at each stage of a plant's life cycle — from conceptual design through operation, maintenance, and modification — and how process safety management ties together as a whole organisational effort.
The training is aimed at managers, supervisors, engineers, safety personnel, and anyone else involved in designing, operating, modifying, or maintaining major hazard or process plants — as well as anyone simply looking to deepen their process safety knowledge.
It's delivered by IChemE, the UK-based professional body for chemical, biochemical, and process engineers founded in 1922. Registration is available through IChemE's website.
