"CHEF IN A SAREE,” HEERA presents an exciting afternoon of cooking demo and full meal, followed by watching and discussing the eye-opening documentary "The Game Changers."This is a fundraising event for SacTown Veg Society projects that promote plant-based/vegan living, including organizing the upcoming SacTown VegFest (9/14/24) and other community activities.
ACTIVITIES:
1. COOKING DEMO and FULL MEAL: Heera will present a no-oil vegan Indian cooking demo, followed by participants enjoying a delicious, filling lunch. Recipes for all the dishes will be provided for everyone to take home.
MENU:
• Red lentil daal with tomatoes (lentil soup)
• Brown rice pulao
• Buckwheat salad
•Aloo palak sabzi (spinach & potatoes dish with spices)
•Cucumber soy yogurt raita
• Cilantro mint chutney
• Beet root dessert
• Masala chai
Recipes for all dishes will be provided.
2. FILM SCREENING:"THE GAME CHANGERS" tells the story of an elite Special Forces trainer and Ultimate Fighter winner as he travels the world on a quest to uncover the optimal diet for human performance. Showcasing elite athletes, special ops soldiers, visionary scientists, cultural icons, and everyday heroes, what he discovers permanently changes his understanding of food and his definition of true strength.
