Fundamentals of Authentic Relating - In Tension with Others
About this Event
WORKSHOP
It’s easy to feel connected when everything is smooth. But the real test is when there is tension: when something feels off, when boundaries are crossed, or when conflict arises.
Instead of creating distance by avoiding these moments or pushing through them, this workshop is an invitation to stay relational while navigating friction.
You will learn tools to reduce the likelihood of tensions creeping in and the skills to stay in connection when navigating conflicts.
Through structured activities, we will explore what supports honest and resilient relationships, and experiment with how to:
- Become aware of the contexts we operate in
- Limit misunderstandings or unmet expectations that lead to disappointment
- Offer feedback in a way that builds trust
- Stay grounded when someone is impacted by us or coming with a charge
- Navigate our own triggers without collapsing or attacking
- Repair connection after a rupture
The workshop is mostly experiential. You can expect a mix of structured activities in pairs or small groups (50%), facilitated reflection time (30%) and teachings (20%).
We aim to foster a sense of connection, insight, and fun in/between participants.
After the workshop you will be emailed session notes (a summary of teachings, prompts for self reflection, suggestions for integration in daily life etc.)

Tickets start at $30.

FUNDAMENTALS OF AUTHENTIC RELATING
Fundamentals of Authentic Relating (AR) happens every 3rd Saturday of the month and tends to gather 15-20 people.
It’s for people who want to bring more awareness, honesty, and connection into their relationships.
Anyone curious about personal growth, wanting more ease and connection in their interactions, interested in improving their relational skills, or wishing to gain a formal understanding of AR frameworks and mechanics.
Sessions are themed and we’ll begin by exploring how to notice what is happening inside (Feb), followed by listening more deeply (Mar), developing curiosity (Apr), expressing oneself with clarity and courage (May), and navigating boundaries and conflict with care (June).
