Join Errin Delperdang, PT, DPT for a workshop that will enable you to develop a deeper understanding of the anatomy of your joints, muscles, and connective tissue to establish a foundation for thinking about movement and exercise. We will identify anatomical landmarks on our own bodies to give a frame of reference for alignment and form. Exercises will focus on reinforcing joint position and alignment, mobilizing connective tissue (fascia), and strengthening muscle groups integral to protecting our skeletons and connective tissues. The series is split into three parts: trunk and spine, lower extremities, and upper extremities,

Trunk and Spine
In the trunk and spine workshop we will explore the structure of the spine, rib cage, and pelvis. There will be discussion about the relationship between the structure and function of the trunk and how extreme deviations from a “neutral” structure can lead to injury. We will detail the role of the musculoskeletal system in breathing and gain a better understanding of the importance of breathing to your physical activities and your daily life. You will learn the structure and purpose of the pelvic floor and how to utilize your breath and coordination to improve pelvic floor strength and function. Exercises will address spine health, pelvic health, trunk stability and mobility, and breathing techniques. The workshop will last 2 hours with time allotted to address specific questions and concerns.
