Summer is just around the corner, and we’re celebrating with live music, good eats and great company! Join us at Whalon Lake for Fun & Food Trucks featuring savory bites from Grumpy Gaucho, Lil Deb’s, and Nick's Pizza Truck; adult beverages from The Dock on Front Street; and entertainment by The Jukebox Heroes.
Have the kids swing by the bounce house and enjoy lawn games with beautiful views of the preserve. Visit our vendors for giveaways; check out activities from Hidden Oaks Nature Center staff and our partners at Illinois Department of Natural Resources; and get fun nature merch from Outsider Threads.
The 2026 Fun & Food Trucks series is sponsored by Old National Bank. Thanks to their sponsorship, the first 150 people to visit their station at the event will receive free Ben & Jerry's ice cream cups.

The event is hosted along paved pathways and natural surfaces across uneven terrain.
