Join the launch party for our fully-funded business support for digital businesses in the region and join our growing digital eco-system!

You're invited to join the STEAMhouse and Barclays Eagle Labs teams at the STEAMhouse Digital Labs for an evening of fun and discovery! Come and learn about the special business support that is available for digital SMEs, to help you test, grow and innovate!

There will be food, drinks, and entertainment, as well as the opportunity to be among the first to get hands-on with cutting-edge equipment and meet our network of digital specialists!

We’re delighted to announce that STEAMhouse are offering even more funded memberships, this time to local digital SMEs, to help them get access to the tools, technical support and mentoring they need to grow. This is your opportunity to skip the queue and be the first to receive tailored digital business support.

Applications for these Funded Memberships (through Digital Direction) are now open to ALL applicants within the region (anywhere in the UK outside of London) looking to develop their skills and working towards boosting the region’s digital industry.

These Funded Memberships include access to the new Digital Labs at STEAMhouse. Following £2.5 million of investment, the 90m² specialist technology lab is designed to demystify digital innovation through hands-on experiences with the latest kit, strategic development workshops, digital skills training, and community events. Using these facilities and combining them with diagnostic and product road mapping, participants can receive bespoke support to digitise their product offering or develop new digital products. Come and experience our Create Lab—a playground of kit and equipment designed to help businesses experiment with cutting-edge spatial computing, motion, reality capture technology, and more, and take a look around our Growth Lab for digital start-ups and scale-ups.

Members also get access to events that discuss topics including immersive media, AI and VR. These sessions are led by industry leaders and workshops offer an opportunity to network with other businesses and experts while providing hands-on skills development.

The funded memberships through Digital Direction are being supported by the Barclays Eagle Labs Ecosystem Partnerships Programme, funded by the UK Government. Through the project with Barclays Eagles Labs, digital SMEs with funded memberships will get access to exclusive events, tools, knowledge and mentoring opportunities in order to develop their skills, products and services as part of efforts to boost the region’s digital industry. The project aims to drive the creation of new products and services, jobs, and funding and investment.

Birmingham City University’s (BCU) STEAMhouse also proudly offers funded memberships to local digital SMEs through the Barclays Eagle Labs Ecosystem Partnership Programme called Digital Direction. This collaboration aims to fuel growth and innovation within the region for digital industry by providing exclusive access to resources, events, and mentoring opportunities. This programme is supported by the Barclays Eagle Labs Ecosystem Partnership Programmes, funded by UK Government.

Successful applicants gain entry to STEAMhouse's Digital Labs, equipped with cutting-edge technology and business and industry mentors to facilitate hands-on experimentation and skill development. STEAMhouse Forward is fully-funded by the UK government through the supporting Birmingham & Solihull businesses to innovate, collaborate and grow.
