A fantastic opportunity to learn a skill for life.
Have you been wanting to try your hand at making soap but have been scared of handling Caustic Soda?
You may not have known it even had caustic soda in it! Or you have just been wondering how it is made?
Well fear no more, this friendly workshop is being run by Adele who has 8 years of soap making experience under her belt. She will demonstrate making a batch of soap and then it will be your turn to make your very own soap.
Imagine that!
You will take home approx 500gms of your own soap and will be given extensive written notes and advice to enable you to try another batch at home. Its really not as scary as you think.
The class will be strictly limited to 8 participants & you must be over 16yo to attend due to the safety required in handling the main ingredient. The workshop will be a duration of around 2 - 2.5hrs.
Please wear a long sleeved top, full length trousers & closed toe footwear. Bring along a pair of gloves to protect your hands, rubber, silicon etc. as long as they are waterproof.
You will also be required to wear safety eyewear so bring along a pair of safety goggles or safety glasses if you have any, your normal spectacles will not cut it. There will be some spare pairs at the venue that will have to be shared if necessary and also a few extra pairs of gloves too in case you forget yours.
If you own a stick blender bring that along too. You will also benefit from bringing a hand towel to wrap the soap in to take home, it will help insulate the soap and balance it whilst in the car.
Most important of all, bring along your smile and prepare to have fun, soaping is a very addictive hobby.
Afterwards we will share Kai and enjoy a cuppa!
