In Ashtanga Yoga, the Primary Series, or “Yoga Chikitsa” meaning yoga therapy, is the first series we begin learning. Traditionally taught one piece at a time.It’s a powerful practice made to release tension and establish awareness around the base of the spine (our center of gravity and our root chakra) which is the link between the physical world and our internal energetic system. Even though it’s the first series, the asanas in the second half are quite advanced.Come see what’s possible, modify wherever you need, and learn about a very scientific and spiritual approach to yoga asana practice.
