You're busy running the show, solving problems, and making things happen. But what happens when your own tank starts running low? Often, leaders are so focused on taking care of everyone else that they don't recognize the signs they need support, too. This panel explores the mental health challenges leaders face and shares practical strategies to build resilience, develop healthier habits, and take care of yourself while continuing to show up for others.
PANELISTS
Chrysta Bairre is an advocate for herself and others. A late-diagnosed autistic queer woman raised in poverty, she fought to get the help and support she needed to thrive, and became a voice for under-served people like herself.
Today, she is an author and professional speaker, helping professionals increase income and impact through valuing their worth, setting boundaries at work, and advocating for themselves. She speaks to employees and teams on burnout, impostor syndrome, and workplace mental health.
Chrysta is also the founder of She Goes High, a women’s leadership community in Northern Colorado. She Goes High hosts more than 30 events per year to support women and non-binary leaders in taking up their space in the world and leaving their legacy!
Kat Atwell is a Gen X woman, mom, individual with a diagnosed brain condition, and an unapologetic extrovert. Kat has a lot of stories to tell, and an unabashed, honest desire to share them. Recognizing she's not the only one who has felt alone, alienated, or smothered by self-doubt, she seeks to reassure those who are living in similar, not-so-trendy shoes by providing compelling content to publications, blogs, companies, non-profits and the public at large.
Kat's first-person narratives and anecdotes are relatable and hit home. Her writing and performances encouraging people to be more authentic and open, connecting in ways they haven't before.
By candidly sharing her lived experience with depression, anxiety, bipolar, and negative self-talk, Kat transforms difficult and sensitive topics in such a way that they don't seem so scary and alien. Whether or not she's speaking directly to brain issues, there's always an underlying theme to her pieces - you are not alone.
