✨Darwin Bellydancers Full Moon Beach Party ?Sat 22 June
From 6pm
Note: High tide is 6pm, we’ll start setting up on the clean firm sand just below high tide mark as the water recedes.
Sunset is 6:30pm
Moonrise 6:41pm
Everyone from the Darwin Bellydance Community, family, friends & fans are invited to come together for a glorious, relaxed night under the full moon.
There will be music & lots of informal dancing - dancers please keep an eye on the program in the Facebook event or in class for dances you are (enthusiatically encouraged) to participate in (note for the shy: participation is optional ?).
SUGGESTIONS for dances/performance on the night are WELCOME - speak to Myf or Sharon.
?Bring your own EVERYTHING: food, drinks, chairs, torch, bellydance hip sash or costume & marshmallows - please take all rubbish with you when you go.
If you have firewood, bring some to throw on the fire!
?This night will include a tribute to Sandra Moore, one of our dearest teachers & dancers who has recently passed.
?Bring your own drink of choice to toast Sandra at sunset and share any memories you would like to ?
?We would also like to perform 2 of Sandra’s favourite dances: her own choreography: “Eshebo” and a favourite: “Linda”.
All Dancers are invited to learn ‘Eshebo’ & revise ‘Linda’ if they know it- practice times will be posted in social media, in class & emailed if we have your email address. These sessions are free to attend. You will need a skirt to swish about in for both dances.
?Party Location: at Casuarina Beach Reserve, drive to the very last carpark (yes, the free beach carpark) and follow the trail to the beach which starts on the right hand side of toilet block. We’ll be nearby because it’s too hard to lug gear through sand for too long!
⚠️Important: You attend at your own risk and responsibility. Please look after each other and make sure solo people who are going to the carpark or toilet do not go alone.
