Monday 20/5/2024 Fused Glass Ladder design & make workshop. Suzie is launching this brand fused glass new workshop to coincide with Wightwick Manor’s glass restoration project. 10:30am-12:30pm & 1:30pm-3:30pm
Taking place at Wightwick Manor in their craft/meeting room. Ask for directions as you arrive.
Throughout the day Wolverhampton glass artist Suzie from Suzie Lavender Contemporary Glass will be teaching two fused glass design and make sessions. You are welcome to attend either the morning or afternoon workshop or you can attend both sessions for the day at a discounted price. These workshops are suitable for beginners or as a refresher course.
Full day attendees (4hr) will make a large glass ladder (30x6cm) throughout the day. You will be designing, cutting, planning, laying out and creating the piece.
Half day attendees (2hr) will be making a similar smaller suncatcher (15x5cm) and will be following similar but quicker instruction.
This glass is intended to emulate stained glass techniques but this is NOT a stained glass workshop, purely a glass fusing workshop: all of the materials used will be glass. There will be no foiling, soldering or leading in this class.
The plan for the day is as follows:
Morning Session 10:30am-12:30pm:
Lunch (not provided) 12:30-1:30pm. Wightwick Manor has a cafe on site and many areas for enjoying your lunch in the fresh air if the weather suits.
Afternoon Session 1:30pm-3:30pm:
All creations will be kiln fired by Suzie following the sessions and then collection from Wightwick Manor (or postage of the work can be organised for a fee) from 14days later.
Places are limited and expected to book up very quickly. Suitable for adults and for teens age 13 and over, under 16's must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Please note that access can be limited/difficult persons of disability due to the room’s location on the first floor. There is no lift and the room is not wheelchair accessible. Other venues where Suzie also holds workshops do have access however, please contact Suzie for more information.
