About this Event
Bold entrepreneurs will openly share their stories of professional failure, along with the lessons and new perspectives that came from them. The purpose is to break the taboo around failure by making honest conversations about mistakes normal, visible, and valuable. By sharing what went wrong, speakers turn setbacks into learning moments and help build a culture of authenticity and growth.

Born in Mexico City in 2012 over a bottle of mezcal, Fuckup Nights is now a global movement celebrating the stories behind failure. With events held in over 250 cities across 80+ countries, this is not your average event. It’s a full-bodied, heart-led, high-vibe experience for creatives, entrepreneurs, and anyone bold enough to ditch the highlight reel. At every event, speakers share their biggest professional blunders — a failed startup, a job that imploded, or a bold risk that didn’t land.
The goal is to break the shame around failure, learn from each other’s mistakes, and create a culture where falling down is just part of rising up.

At Fuckup Nights Sydney, we share only stories that are legal and respectful. Speakers do not name other people or brands if doing so could cause harm. We recognise that there is always more than one side to a story. While public accountability can be important, this space invites speakers to focus on their own fuckups, their responsibility, and what they learned.
