About this Event
Perth’s Fuckup Nights continues!
A night where failure gets taken off the pedestal of shame… and turned into something worth talking about.
Fuckup Nights is a global event series held in 300+ cities around the world, where founders, creatives, business owners and professionals share the stories behind the setbacks, mistakes, risks and pivots that shaped them.
Not the polished highlight reel.
The real version.
The business idea that flopped.
The launch that tanked.
The decision that backfired.
The moment everything felt like it was falling apart.
And what happened next.
Because failure is part of building anything worthwhile, and hearing the truth behind other people’s journeys is often far more powerful than hearing another success story.
This is Perth’s very first Fuckup Nights.
A chance to be part of something honest, refreshing, and genuinely memorable from the very beginning.
What to expect
This isn’t your typical networking event.
No awkward what-do-I-say energy.
No fake “6-figure secret” chat.
No pretending everyone has it together.
Instead, expect:
- 4 raw, honest speaker stories
- big laughs and hard-earned lessons
- a welcome drink on arrival
- Q&A with the speakers
- relaxed networking afterwards
- food and drinks available at the bar
- a room full of curious, open-minded people
Whether you’re building a business, changing careers, figuring things out, or just craving more real conversations and adding to your network, this night is for you.
Who should come?
This event is for:
- founders and startup people
- freelancers and creatives
- professionals in transition
- curious humans who want more than surface-level conversations
If you’ve ever:
- doubted yourself
- made a bad call
- changed direction
- wondered if everyone else secretly has no idea what they’re doing
You’ll probably leave this night feeling lighter.
Meet the June speakers
Speaker 1: Ash Battye
Ash Battye is a Hiring and Leadership Partner and the founder of Emerald HQ, supporting women in business to lead their business with clarity, confidence and strong values, and providing hiring, HR coordination, culture and leadership support.
As if one business wasn’t enough, she’s also cofounder of Secret Women’s Collab, a space for women in business to come together for events south of Perth.
She’s known for her no-BS approach to business and life, as well as her sarcastic humour and love of espresso martinis.
She’s sharing her story of how she was actively supporting and teaching women to build their business based on a clear vision, practical support and strong boundaries so they could avoid burnout and actually enjoy business and life, while convincing herself that she was the exception to the rule and living in complete burnout.
Speaker 2: Fred Nason
Speaker 3: TBA

Find the Courage
If you’re tired of polished business events and surface-level conversations…
Come celebrate the messy middle.
The mistakes.
The pivots.
The resilience.
The stories no one usually tells.
Tickets are limited, and this first event is intentionally intimate.
Come for the fuckups.
Leave with perspective.
Where did Fuckup Nights come from?
Born in Mexico City in 2012 over a bottle of mezcal, Fuckup Nights is now a global movement celebrating the stories behind failures.
At every event, speakers share their biggest professional blunders: a failed startup, a job that imploded, or a bold risk that didn’t land.
The goal?
To break the shame around failure, learn from each other’s mistakes, and create a culture where falling down is just part of rising up
