About this Event
The Faculty of Science and Engineering is offering a 2-hour in-person training event on research integrity, tailored to different groups of researchers.
Future sessions will be added in the new academic year.
Please book the appropriate event, based on your position/role. Sessions will take place in 126 Mount Pleasant. Please check tickets for room number.
The sessions are designed to promote a culture of research integrity, and to help researchers with the completion of the mandatory online Epigeum training in Research Integrity (https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/research-integrity/training-in-research/), so they are especially aimed at colleagues/students who have not completed that training yet, but everyone is welcome to attend.
The event will provide an overview of research integrity principles, with discussion of practical examples of common situations that could lead to integrity issues, from research data management to writing papers, supervising students, collaborating with other researchers, etc. The session will also signpost University resources and will guide participants through the registration for the Epigeum training. It is expected that, by the end of the session, participants will be able to complete the final quizzes for the initial modules of that training; if you wish to complete the Epigeum registration during the session, and perhaps attempt the completion of the first quizzes, please bring along your laptop/tablet.
For the avoidance of doubt, attending this in-person session will not exempt participants from the requirement of completing the entire online Epigeum training, but will hopefully simplify the process by starting it during the session. It will also provide specific information about University policy and resources, not available in the Epigeum training, and it will create an opportunity for group discussion around shared experiences, concerns, etc. Participants are also very welcome to use the session as an opportunity to provide feedback to Faculty, if they have suggestions, issues or concerns about research integrity that they wish to raise.
If you have any question about this session, or about research integrity in general, please feel free to contact Dr Roberto Ferrero ([email protected]).
