Horse Meat Disco
Horse Meat Disco is a byword for Sunday night London bacchanalia which accidentally resurrected the original dance music genre onto the world stage. The four-strong DJ collective of Luke Howard, Severino Panzetta, James Hillard and Jim Stanton began their disco shenanigans on New Year’s Day, 2004 at The Eagle, Vauxhall. Beside their famous well-hung equine neon logo (“Our Eiffel Tower”), their brand of reverential, revisionist bonhomie turned out to be its own form of futurism, restructuring the London nightclub pyramid. “You put music at the top and getting high or jiggy follows,” they say, “not the other way round.”
They are a band of brothers devoted to wrapping their arms round a community and a genre, finding connections through it as their Pied Piper success rolls along, superpowered by its joyful momentum alone. “The club is a place you can leave your cares at the door,” they say, “and be anyone you want to be. Love and Dancing had to honour that.” In the 16 years of their nightclub tenure, HMD have become a global brand. They have added monthly residencies in Berlin, New York and Lisbon to their London bedrock.
TEED
TEED, fka Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaur, is a US-based, UK-born artist, producer, singer-songwriter, DJ, classically trained musician, label head, and two-time GRAMMY-nominee. He has performed all over the planet from London's fabric to Red Rocks in Colorado, sold out solo tours, worked behind the scenes with globally recognized artists, released Platinum-certified records and achieved worldwide radio play. He has collaborated with, or remixed for, artists like Bonobo, SG Lewis, Porter Robinson, The Blessed Madonna, ODESZA, Gorgon City, Lane 8 and many more across a wide electronic spectrum.
g-HA & Olanksii
Two pivotal bodies in the sphere of Norwegian electronic music, g-HA & Olanskii are an event, a club, a DJ duo, and a musical authority for Norway. Individually adept as DJ, selectors and tastemaker, Ola “Olanskii” Smith-Simonsen and Geir “g-HA” Holger’s musical voices unified for Sunkissed, an events series that has become the backbone of Oslo’s electronic music scene and beyond.
Øyvind Morken
Oslo`s Øyvind Morken (pronounced Oy-vind) has a unique ability to play everything from A to Z of what genres concern. Working the dance floor in the most unexpected ways. For the last nine years he has held down a residency at Jaeger. Eight of them weekly under the Untzdag banner, a wordplay for Onsdag, Norwegian for Wednesday. It became an institution in Oslo. Drawing in a crowd of open-minded party freaks for nights of wild abandon, and where musical diversity and self-expression was encouraged.
