About this Event
Ready to share your Creative Fruits?
Join us for FRUIT SALON, Berlin’s newest literature and arts event, happening quarterly at The Hoxton, Charlottenburg.
Writer/performer Demi Anter (as seen at Glastonbury Festival, Electric Picnic and EdFringe) hosts an all-new night, combining the best of poetry open mic, interactive art salon, and quirky community space—all in The Hoxton’s swanky Wintergarden.
What to expect?
Our event on May 14th features: a short performance by your host, open mic slots, a special still-life drawing session with artist Luca Bentley, and a raffle for decor donated by Berlin-based maker Very Ugly Plates with proceeds going to doggos-in-need.
How does it work?
- Sign up for an open mic slot in advance for a reduced ticket.
- Eight slots are available per event, with four slots reserved for attendees of Creative Fruits Mornings, the monthly workshop at the Hoxton.
- Each open mic slot is five minutes.
- Readers are welcome to share work in any language (the night is primarily hosted in English).
- All types of writing are encouraged, from page poetry to spoken word to fiction, essays, scripts, travel writing, you name it.
- The only thing we don’t want to see is AI-generated writing, and anything racist, sexist, fascist, ablist, etc.
The aim of FRUIT SALON is to create a fun, high-energy, and supportive event for writers of all experience levels and backgrounds across Berlin.
We can’t wait to see your work, whether it’s something brand new, something highly polished, or something you’ve left in a drawer for years and forgot about until right this second.
Silly, serious, overly ripe, or not ripe enough: FRUIT SALON is ready for you!
