Saturday night at the Blue Room belongs to the groove, and this week the groove belongs to Frost Loya. The Kansas City guitarist has spent years working the metro's stages with his band, The Frost Band KC, building a sound he describes as a fusion of Latin jazz, R&B, and classic rock — music built for a room that wants to move.
For this Blue Room date, Loya brings a hand-picked crew of friends to stretch that sound across two full sets. Expect guitar out front, a rhythm section locked in deep, and a set list that slides from smoldering Latin grooves to soul burners to the kind of classic-rock turns you didn't know you needed in a jazz club — played with the swing this room demands.
The Blue Room has always been the place where Kansas City's working musicians come to show what they can really do. Grab a table, order a drink, and let the band take it from there.
