About this Event

Mental health and wellbeing in hospitality: from good intentions to a real strategy with The Drinks Trust

We've come a really long way in hospitality. People are talking about mental health, leaders are stepping up, and stigma is on its way out. That's real progress.

But we need to keep up the momentum. An empathic leader who reads the situation well is a great start, yet without a proper structure behind them, support ultimately rests on instinct.

This session is about building the structure that turns willingness into something reliable: clear routes to real help, tools your team can actually use, and support for the people doing the supporting so it never sits on one person's shoulders.

Because when the structure is there, everyone benefits. The person struggling gets proper, consistent help, and the leader knows where to turn instead of carrying it alone. And the business becomes somewhere people want to stay.

This is a sector of long hours, late nights, busy shifts and high demand. Expecting people to simply power through was never good enough, and we know better than that now. So how do you build a wellbeing strategy that holds up? What does a strong one actually look like?

We're delighted to welcome Angela Clay from The Drinks Trust to lead the conversation. Angela is Head of Corporate Partnerships at the Trust, and comes to the role after a long commercial career in the drinks sector with senior roles at Campari Group, Westons Cider and Anheuser-Busch InBev. She knows the industry from the inside, which is exactly why her perspective on wellbeing carries weight.

The Drinks Trust has served the drinks industry since 1886, providing financial assistance, wellbeing support and routes back into employment for people across the trade.

Expect an honest, practical session with plenty of room for questions. Free to attend. Operators and job seekers across the Midlands are all welcome. Bring a colleague, bring a question.
