About this Event
Begin your journey with our storyteller Jason sharing the enchanting legend of how maple syrup was discovered.
In this hands-on, two-hour workshop, you'll learn the complete process of maple syrup making:
- Identifying the right maple trees and optimal tapping conditions
- Proper tree tapping techniques and equipment usage
- Collecting and filtering maple sap
- The art of boiling and reducing sap to syrup
- Testing for optimal consistency and flavor
- Bottling and storing your liquid gold
As a special treat, while your syrup reaches its perfect consistency, you'll enjoy freshly grilled acorn flour pancakes topped with house-made hickory bark syrup - a traditional Native American sweet that perfectly complements our maple syrup making journey.
Take home not just knowledge, but also a deep appreciation for this time-honored craft that bridges ancient wisdom with modern techniques. Each participant will receive a sample of fresh maple syrup from the day's production.
Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes, as we'll be spending time outdoors among the maples.
Space is limited to ensure a personal, hands-on experience for all participants. Advanced registration required.
