Join 8th-generation ballad singer Donna Ray Norton as she hosts a new series. Celebrating the living traditions of the Appalachian Mountains, each session in the series will feature a different musician, dancer, storyteller, or culture bearer. This series offers audiences a varied and vibrant look into the heart of mountain heritage. Through music, movement, and shared history, these sessions will showcase the people who historically (and continue to) shape Western North Carolina through time-honored traditions. Each program will feature live performances, discussion, and provide the occasional opportunity for audience participation in order to foster understanding and engagement with these cultural treasures.
