About 31 October
Our From the Shadows event will be held on the evening of Thursday 31 October - a day seen as a liminal time, when the boundary between this world and the Otherworld is thinned. A time when it was traditionally believed that departed souls wandered the earth until All Saints' Day. All Hallows' Eve provided one last chance for the dead to gain vengeance on their enemies before moving to the next world. In order to avoid being recognized by any soul that might be seeking such vengeance, people would don masks or costumes. Guests are invited to dress to theme.
