Caldera Brewing & Blending Co have been quietly concocting mad brewing experiments in the Tweed Valley for the past couple of years. Here at Sacch HQ, we have been lucky enough to have showcased a couple of their very limited early work and we can say it is absolutely banging. That is why when Caldera asked if they could host a tasting, we jumped at the chance! On Thursday September 26, Caldera will be taking over our tasting room with special guests, Kat Harvey Cheese, to guide you through their latest offerings. Caldera specialises in crafting small batch, barrel aged, mixed culture saisons. Their saisons burst with intricate flavours and aromas. Each beer is crafted over time to pay homage to the world-class bounty of the Tweed Valley’s growers, chefs and producers. Caldera’s brews are fermented and aged using a unique blend of yeasts and bacteria within the embrace of oak barrels. To further elevate the final brews, Caldera sources local and organic hops, fruits and botanicals. They are beers to be enjoyed with food (especially cheese).
Each beer that is crafted by Caldera aims to tell the story of their region and pair perfectly with other exceptional producers across the Tweed Valley. Kat Harvey Cheese is one of those. Located in the heart of Murwillumbah, Kat Harvey Cheese offers a curated selection of the finest Australian and imported cheeses. From fudgy lactic goats’ cheese to zesty Swiss gruyeres, the 50+ cheeses in their collection are sourced from only the very best producers and are meticulously cared for by Kat Harvey to ensure exceptional cheese quality. Kat has selected three cheeses to pair perfectly with each saison.
Get down the lane on Thursday September 26 to enjoy a gastronomical trip through the Caldera. Join the makers of this excellent produce as they guide you through three saisons paired with three cheeses. This will be a small and intimate experience with very limited space. Grab a ticket now and take a trip through the Tweed Valley.
Tickets cost $38 plus booking fee and includes three 250ml pours of saison paired with three cheeses. Available through Humanatix (via the ticket link).
