From Sun to Caterpillar: Earth's Amazing Connections

Join us at the Blake Planetarium for an immersive journey that explores how the Sun shapes our planet, from the changing seasons to the energy that sustains life and the delicate systems that keep Earth's ecosystems in balance.

Our feature presentation, Four Paths of the Sun, takes a closer look at the changing path of the Sun across our sky throughout the year.  Discover why Earth experiences seasons, how the Sun's altitude changes from season to season, and how the angle of sunlight affects temperature and weather.  Produced by the Casper Planetarium, this short program offers a fascinating look at the relationship between our planet and its most important source of energy.

Next, shrink down for an unforgettable adventure in Lila the Adventure of Change.  Meet Lila, a curious caterpillar, and her wise friend, Chameleon, as they explore the hidden connections that make an ecosystem work.  Discover how energy flows from the Sun to plants and then to Lila before a harsh drought threatens their beautiful home.  Follow Chameleon on a journey through the water cycle and explore the important role the atmosphere plays in regulating Earth's temperature.

As Lila's story unfolds, audiences discover that they have a role to play, too.  Learn how the choices we make can help protect the health of Earth's ecosystems and become a "Hero of the Ecosystem" by embracing the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

Together, these programs reveal the remarkable connections between the Sun, Earth's atmosphere, water, weather, and living things and show how changes in one part of Earth's systems can affect the whole.

TICKETS ARE SOLD ONLINE ONLY. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR.

Please note that we are a ticketless venue. When you buy your ticket online, you are immediately added to our attendee list, so there is no need to print your ticket or present an e-ticket. You can simply check in on show night with your name and a smile.
