In celebration of FIFA World Cup 2026, the American Museum of Natural History invites you to a free outdoor block party that honors the games New Yorkers play, the cultures we carry, and the climate we share. Drawing inspiration from the sports and street games of the five boroughs, the afternoon features soccer, Double Dutch with Brooklyn's Jazzy Jumpers, chess with Chess in the Schools, board games, DJ sets inspired by global music traditions, and hands-on art-making. As the sun begins to set, the celebration culminates in a collective viewing of Manhattanhenge on 79th Street, the rare moment when the city grid aligns with the setting sun, set to the vibrant sounds of the Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra. World Cup match viewings in the Museum's iconic halls round out the day. A memorable, family-friendly New York City summer evening. Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 3 to 10 pm. Free.
